- @RootNegative1@chai.kibbutz.gay#WritersCoffeeClub 24-06-02. When you complete your WIP, do you intend to have a Half Title? How do you feel about them? digital +shrug+ If I ever do printed copies, there will be one with the limited editions I hand bind. Yes I’m a snowflake short of a blizzard in that I want my limited editions to be because I hand bound them myself. Depending on the story I have some ideas about the styles of bindings too boot. Wytch-Fork collection for instance would have a hand carved oak or ash front & back cover with marine brass hardware. I’m a bit nutters, I know. But I want the limited editions to be worthy of calling it limited edition. I look at my tool box and the tools given to my by my grandpa. Some of these have been around since early 1800’s. They’re made to last. And that is sort of my mind is. If I make a limited edition, it should be hearty enough to be an heirloom still getting handed down a few generations from now.

I hadn't heard the name before, but I've seen this kind of page, of course. I'm totally going to use them now, but only a 17th century version. Thank you, writerscoffeeclub, for introducing me to such a fun formatting idea.

I don't mind them, and I know they're traditional from when books were bound differently. At the very least, it would give me a place to autograph the final copy. 😂 #writing#writingcommunity
- @tjkendon@mstdn.ca#WritersCoffeeClub - July 2 - Half Title> When you complete your WIP, do you intend to have a Half Title? How do you feel about them? I had no feelings towards them other than a) to figure it was not a thing I had to worry about (and I guess based on my internal assumption that I will be in print at some point) and b) kinda prefer the eBook standard of putting the front mater at the back (see more Thursday). @HeliaXyana has expanded my horizons. (I think my MC just started doing marginalia)
- @ixtlidekami@mstdn.social#WritersCoffeeClub#Writing 02 Half Title> When you complete your WIP, do you intend to have a Half Title (Bastard Page)? How do you feel about them? I like them. I had no idea how those were called until this day, but I'll add one just because why the hell not? What's a few bytes more in a digital file? And if someone, by some unknown cause, ever ask me to sign the book, I can sign in their e-book reader with a permanent marker in that very page…MWAHAHAHAHAHA!!! >=)
