I’m genuinely wondering which trust and safety actions could change this pattern. Mastodon and Xitter are good examples of platforms where unchecked toxic behaviors have solidified, up to the point it ruined both platforms*. I’m afraid Bluesky is following a similar path. RE:

Still reliably getting more interaction on Mastodon than BlueSky.

I find myself interacting more heavily with Bluesky recently. I think part of the reason is that the Mastodon interface is still unfriendly in many respects, like the way it displays threads is confusing and requires a bit more effort to comprehend. Also if I want to answer a question I have to do a bit more investigation to find out if it's already been answered. It's not just those things, in many tiny ways I find Mastodon a little harder to engage with, with no positive change in years.

i think we could benefit from a conversation between the fediverse (not just mastodon, i'd also think looking at lemmy) and bluesky about what lessons we both get from community moderation, because there's a lot of overlap in abstract principles but both have a lot of failures to achieve those

Doing a quick test to see if posting simultaneously to Threads, Bluesky and Mastodon functions as expected!
